Gaines' inventive and creative spirit has transformed her home into a pastiche of collectibles, gifts and creations.

Gaines says she finds most of her furniture and decorative pieces at garage sales, or they are given to her. She also admits to doing some dumpster diving.

"I find things off the beaten path," she says.

But even with all her collections, Gaines' home doesn't feel cluttered. When you walk into her house, the warm colors and lit candles make you feel right at home.

"I won't live in a house that isn't comfortable," she says.
