Help from friends: Kim Cochran-Price said she asked friends for help when choosing the color palette for her home. She said it wasn't so much about the mix of colors, but the depth of colors.

Friends of Kim Cochran-Price and Rhett Price tend to find the couple's home unique.

"They just say it's so different," Kim says. And she concedes, "it's not like anybody else's."

    Their friends are perceptive.

The couple definitely went for something a little different when decorating their home of eight years.

Though the house required little renovation, the two wanted to put a personal spin on it and color was a big part of that.

Kim sought the advice of friends in advertising when deciding on paint palettes.

"Their point was, it's not the mix of colors as much as it is the depth of colors," Kim says. "So you have to have saturation the same in every room. I don't know if I achieved that or not but it's definitely colorful."

Continuing with the personal touch theme, Kim and Rhett filled the house with art by local artists as well. Kim feels it gives the space a distinct personality.

"I think that's one of the things that we really wanted this house to be is full of art," Kim says. "The whole idea was to have the colors that we wanted and the themes that we wanted."

But of personal style, Kim says, "It's what's comfortable for you. This is obviously something that suits our tastes and wouldn't be for everybody else."
