Nicole Payne and Brandon Hagin think they'll stay in their bottom floor apartment in the heart of Greenville for a while. The two have been in the place for almost a year now, but the college students who also have fulltime jobs can't see leaving a place that's both affordable and convenient. And that, to them is "just home."
"All the neighbors know each other," Nicole says. "It's got like a small townish feel, and all the neighbors look out for each other."
Brandon and Nicole complement each other well, with Nicole taking charge of the visual artistic elements, and Brandon taking care of the audio arts.
"She's very visually artistically inclined, so she does that stuff," Brandon says. "Then I do the audio stuff. So the combination's great."
The two have worked especially hard at creating a unique ambiance in their apartment.
To this end, candles are almost always burning, flowers abound, music is usually playing and soft lamp and Christmas lights accentuate the space.
They feel they have successfully created a home that is based on comfort, things they like and mixed in with a little family heritage as well.
"There is no real distinct style," Brandon says. "It's just based on comfortability and the things we enjoy."
