    Details: A popular lunch spot, Tanner's specializes in hot dogs and party punch. Standard chili dogs with mustard and onions are popular.

    Details: Be different with the sausage dog, which is loaded with mustard, peppers and onions on a six-inch sub roll for $2.75. Two dogs with chips and tea is $3.95.

    Details: While you can get a hot dog or even BBQ plate, J.C.'s bird dogs are easily the top selling item on the menu. A bird dog consists of two chicken strips in a hot dog bun topped with honey mustard, cheddar cheese and bacon. A single bird dog plate with fries is $3.50, while a double plate is $5.90. All their hot dogs are flown in from New York.

    Details: They specialize in Southwestern food and grilled hot dogs. Combos run about $5.50 with the Carolina dog (chili, mustard and onions) and hand battered corn dogs being two of the most popular items along with stuffed burritos and quesadillas.

    Details: Everything from the chili to the potato salad and cakes are homemade. The Paladin special of two hot dogs and a tea is just $3 every day of the week. If you're doing the low-carb thing, Pup in a Cup is for you (a split dog with chili and cheese for $1.30).

    Details: Strictly a lunch place, this new downtown eatery is simple with a 1950's style diner feel. Hot dogs ($1.50) and cheese dogs ($1.75) are just two of the seven items on the menu.

    Details: Beef and turkey dogs available. The chili, relish and slaw are all homemade. They also grill up bratwurst ($2.95) and sausage ($2.85) and you can top it all off with some sauerkraut. Catering is available.

    Details: This popular hot dog restaurant near downtown Spartanburg sells on average 4,000 dogs per day. Homemade chili is a specialty, while two hot dogs, fries and a drink are just $4.28. Average meal runs about $4.50.

    Details: Know as "The Spice" around town, it's packed after Friday night high school football games and other sporting events. Chili dogs and chili cheeseburgers are the item of choice, while onion rings are also a hit.

    Details: An institution in Spartanburg, this Southern landmark is famous for a greasy meal. Known for its chili cheese a-plenty, onion rings and iced tea, their hot dogs ($1.25) can't go ignored. You haven't lived until you've eaten at The Beacon.

    Details: This is the original restaurant in what has now developed into a chain (nine different locations around the Upstate). They specialize in a businessman's lunch - quick in and quick out. Two dogs all the way, chips and drinks is $4.24.
